We do not charge pick up or delivery, we roll your rugs up and lay them down at no charge, provided all lamps, plants and breakables have been removed prior to our arrival. Be aware, we are happy to move larger pieces such as beds, dressers and entertainment centers, for a additional charge, so long as they are properly prepared. To start we measure to offer an accurate, to the penny price & inspect for wear, abrasion or damage due to previous cleanings. (unfortunately most of the rug orders that we see will have at least one rug in the order that will have such damage, very often the client is not aware that the damage has occurred) We do extensive testing to insure that our cleanings will not cause any further damage, offering our clients great peace of mind.
A Burris Exclusive-
A high powered pre-vacuum using a vacuum that is nearly 2x as powerful as most home vacuum cleaners. Another Burris Cleaning exclusive is our DPE System: (Dry Particulate Evacuation System) Using a apparatus that guarantees maximum dry soil removal our of any type of rug in many cases this process will evacuate pounds of dry soil previous to any water based cleaning after all, "what's easier to remove dirt or mud?" This step alone may be all that is needed in some cases given the right conditions (light to moderate soil, few if any stains). In-Plant Rug Cleaning Procedures Your rug will be cleaned using the most gentle yet thorough means possible, to insure the cleanest rug possible, causing no damage or premature wear. (Depending on the soiling/staining level determined during "dust down"). More heavily soiled rugs (as determined by colorfastness) will be cleaned in our laminar pond, (a pond filled with crystal clear water that we can control to flow from one end to another, much like washing the rug in a flowing river as is still done for the care of fine oriental rugs in the middle east today.) If the rug is not a candidate for this treatment it may be cleaned with our high-flow extractor achieving maximum soil removal. Stain specific spotting- To insure that your rug is as spot free as can be. (Please be aware however that due to the usual absorbency of most natural fibers, we will do everything within the guidelines of the industry to remove stains). we will come out and service the stain on the spot. This visit will

Pre-test
all rugs for colorfastness. The importance of this crucial step
cannot be stressed enough. This is done in one of two ways, to be
as thorough as possible, often we do both. We dampen a clean white
cotton towel in the solution we intend to clean the rug with, wrap
it around a block roll in in the back of the rug, or saturate cotton
swabs in the solution for even better pinpoint accuracy. Then the
solution is allowed to dry for a full 24 hours, after that we inspect
them to insure colorfastness of all articles we will be caring for.
If any occurs we will first try other solutions, then clear water
only, if all attempts fail we are experienced and trained in several
other methods/ cleaning options for safe and effective cleaning
(including low moisture encapsulation, no moisture, as well as dry
compound cleaning).
We
check all rugs in our dark room with the aid of a black-light. The
light will cause fresh animal accidents to "glow" allowing
us to do a more specific color fastness test on those particular
stains. We find them whether you know about them or not! Many clients
do not realize that if those stains are not individually tested
when dealing with oriental / area rugs, the spot itself may bleed
out even if the rest of the rug is colorfast due to the high acidity
of animal accidents.
